One of our favorite ways to enjoy fall is by going to orchards. Our great state is home to a multitude of beautiful orchards, but it can be hard to know where to start. In this list, we count our personal favorites. Check out the below:
Post Family Farm – Local and family-oriented, it’s no wonder why we love this place. Owners Bill and Etta Post have operated their farm in Hudsonville since 1969. Hayrides and pumpkin patches galore, this beautiful 80 acre farm is fun for the whole family.
Klackle Orchards – Also known as the “family fun farm,” we love this farm for the many, many things you can do. With a general admission ticket, there are enough activities to spend the whole day here! Pick your own apples and pumpkins and take a scenic walk through their corn maze. If you prefer something more fast-paced, the orchard has a BMX track as well as pedal carts and tractors. End the night with a nice bonfire and a picnic.
Schwallier’s Country Basket – If you’ve got a sweet tooth like us, you will love Schwallier’s Country Basket. Located on 9 mile, the farm has wagon rides and a corn maze, but their sweet treats are the main attraction. Their store offers many different confections, but our personal favorite are their donuts.
Klein’s Cider Mill & Market – Also located in Sparta, Klein’s apple cider is fresh and award winning. They offer tours of the mill, so come down and watch them make apple cider the old fashioned way.
Pond Hill Farm – Although not technically an orchard, Pond Hill Farm boasts scenic trails that will be sure to put you in the fall mood. Take a walk through the Tunnel of Trees while you enjoy a beer– or cider!
