Ridge Cider and Coppercraft Distillery Partner on Saugatuck Tasting Room

Tasting Room Opens to the Public

SAUGATUCK, Mich., — Coppercraft Distillery, award-winning maker of artisan spirits, and Ridge Cider, one of Michigan’s fastest-growing hard cider producers, are partnering to open an entirely new tasting room and dining experience in Downtown Saugatuck. The new destination for sampling cocktails, spirits, and cider, opens today and will be open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Located along the Kalamazoo River at 340 Water Street, the tasting room is Ridge Cider’s first location outside of its Grant, Mich. home, and a relocation of Coppercraft’s Saugatuck tasting room, moving them one block south to a building also occupied by the Mermaid Bar & Grill. Guests can order from a seafood small plates menu prepared by the Mermaid’s kitchen and have their food delivered to the tasting room.

“Saugatuck is one of the premier vacation spots in the Midwest, and having this new location allows us to interact with our fans and expose new visitors to Coppercraft and Ridge products,” said Brandon Joldersma, Coppercraft general manager. “By bringing together these brands, we are creating an experience that is unmatched in West Michigan and will redefine how people engage with local craft spirits and cider.”

Designed as a single tasting room, segmented by the two brands, the Coppercraft and Ridge Tasting Room will include display cabinets, tables, standing bars, and signage created by Holland-based Cento Anni, giving the entire space a rough-hewn, hand-crafted atmosphere—matching both the Coppercraft and Ridge brand experiences.

The Coppercraft side will offer samples of Coppercraft’s award-winning spirits, including vodka, citrus vodka, gin, rum, applejack, bourbon, and whiskey; at the other end of the room, Ridge Cider will offer a rotating selection of more than 25 distinct cider flavors on tap, to enjoy in the tasting room or in growlers to go.

“Summer in Saugatuck is unlike any other place in Michigan, and our partnership with Coppercraft is designed to embrace that experience for guests looking to enjoy local beverages during their time here,” said Matt DeLong, founder of Ridge Cider. “Our combination of ciders and craft spirits take that experience to the next level, giving guests a true taste of West Michigan craftsmanship.”

Music on the Ridge: August and September Lineup

Summer nights are the best nights. Especially summer nights spent on the Ridge. Our summer music lineup continues through August and into September. Support local musicians and our friends while enjoying good food, good company, and the very best all-natural ciders.

Check out our August and September lineup below:

August 8 at 7:00pm, Wingman: Hank and Milo are entertaining, humorous, and FUN as individuals… and even more so together as the musically gifted Wingman. The pair plays everything from The Beatles to new country and has been a Ridge favorite for years.

August 18 at 7:00pm, Innuendo: Innuendo is a West Michigan cover band playing rock and roll from the 60s to today. Some of their musical influences are the Spin Doctors, Black Sabbath, and Stone Temple Pilots.

August 25 at 7:00pm, Toby Bresnahan: The airy cadence of Toby Bresnahan cannot be beat. Especially when paired with our cider. Toby specializes in acoustic guitar, pulling many aspects of his Celtic/Irish identity into his sound.

September 8 at 7:00pm, J Ryan Berends: Grand Rapids native J Ryan Berends is also known as Ryan Berends and the Defiance. He is a solo, indie folk musician whose influences include The Eagles and Willie Nelson.

September 15 at 7:00pm, Jimmy Hazard: Occasionally referred to as “Hazard” this rock band blends blues and glam rock with “acoustic Michigan-flavored originals and covers.”

See you in Grant for Music on the Ridge!
